Aguirre Jr High STEM Fair

Explaining how the EQ1 vertical seismometer detects ground motion
Far left – “human made” earthquakes during the Fair

We had a wonderful, and exhausting!, evening at Aguirre Junior High School Channelview ISD (Houston, TX). The students and parents “made” their own earthquakes and also tried their hand at the BOSS model* challenge.  We discussed how a vertical seismometer measures ground motion, and a building’s natural wave resonant frequency.  This was the school’s 1st STEM Fair, and it was a success!  Check out the pictures of participants and our booth – FUN!
